A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER, MARIA
I don't stay in one place for very long.
As a yoga teacher, artist, traveler, social enthusiast, earth caregiver and adventurer, Gypsy Soulz represents who I am on all levels. A free spirit who aims to inspire, I created this eco-conscious brand that is travel-ready & gives back, both to Mother Earth & to its wearer.
Gypsy Soulz are people like me, in need of change or adventure. We gypsies search for the next best thing in any situation. Open & passionate, we are inspired by different ideas, attitudes and experiences. We embrace uncertainty with open arms.
So let's wander together, my friends, share our gifts & do good for the environment along the way.
LOW IMPACT, HAND-DYED
Conventional coloring techniques in the clothing industry is broken. “Wet processing” as industrial dyeing is called, is one of the top polluters in the world, consuming enormous amounts of energy, water and petrochemical based colorants.
Gypsy Soulz USA is here to offer a solution. Our low-impact dye techniques use less significantly less water, are non-toxic, biodegradable and draws its incomparable color palette from natural sources. All fabric is hand-dyed and made with love from our hands to the Earth.
Low impact dyes are dyes with higher than above average absorption rate (70%-80%, depending on the color). This means less water is required in the rinse process and less dye runs off in the water; therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment. Low-impact dyes do not contain heavy metals (like chrome, copper, & zinc), nor do they require toxic chemical mordants to fix them to fiber. The water can be recycled as well vs. natural dyes (requires 2-3 times more) the dye cycle is shorter than it is for other dye processes, meaning less water, salt and chemicals needed, unlike natural dyes. Gypsy Soulz will be converting all of our clothing to Low-Impact dyes from now on. Look forward to brighter and more colors options!
SUSTAINABLE FABRIC
Our modal fabric blend is made from beechwood. We are dedicated to reducing emissions and conserving resources; 95% of the production materials used to make this luxe fabric are reclaimed.
With its silky hand feel, absorbency and air permeability, we think it’s the perfect fabric for travel & exercise. And life in general.
The fibers take and hold dye easily resulting in deep, brilliant colors and produce no dye bleeding during cleaning.
